MCB

Ambassador of Middle East & North Africa Pre Moot Competition

In 2015, Mena Chambers Bahrain was named as the Ambassador of the MENA Vis Pre Moot Competition. Alongside its partners, Mena Chambers Bahrain organizes and facilitates the Programme throughout the region. We work alongside our partners: Centre for International Legal Education (CILE), Commercial Law Development Programme (CLDP) and Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA).

At Mena Chambers Bahrain we believe in empowering the youth by supporting education, research and training. For this reason, we support the MENA Vis Pre Moot competition which aims to prepare all Arab teams for the annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition in Vienna.

Mena Chambers Bahrain provides mentorship to various universities in the Arab region in support of the MENA Pre Moot competition and also provides internship opportunities in the form of “The MCB Excellence Award” which is granted to exceptional performance of a student in the Pre Moot competition.

Arbitrator Round Table

The Arbitrator Round Table is an annual event that coincides with the MENA Vis Pre Moot Competition and aims to encourage regional and international practitioners in supporting the pre-moot by participating as arbitrators in the competition. The round table brings arbitrators, lawyers, practitioners and judges together for a one day event where various UNCITRAL legal instruments such as the Arbitration Rules, the Model Law, New York Convention for the Enforcement of Arbitral Awards (“NYC”) and the Convention on International Sales and Goods (“CISG”) are discussed.

Mena Chambers Bahrain regularly participates in co-hosting, organizing and sponsoring the Arbitrator Round Table event.
